That Girl Publishing
That Girl! was originally founded in St. Louis, MO by Tara Howard, Donna Hughes and Donna Luellen in 2012. At the time, the trio’s creative writer, Tara, wanted to have her literary ideas set to print for all the world to enjoy. However, after much research, decided that self-publishing would be a much better way to go.
Turning to her friends “The Donnas” for help, Tara gained the financial backing and organizational structure to begin. In order to gain the capital necessary for the venture, the three took on projects from other writer’s first. It can be said that TG!P cut it’s publishing teeth with author Goddess and Urban novelist Suzette Steptoe; putting out a total of seven titles between them in one year.
By mid 2013 Tara felt the Power of The Most High calling her to do other work which would edify His Kingdom. Putting away all other genres, Tara and the Donnas published her first novel, Like the Days of Noah: a Christian Fantasy in late 2013. After another slight shift in focus, Tara began publishing a series of Bible-based workbooks for independent study or home-schooling titled My Time With The Most High.
Now, six years and several titles later, much has been learned about the avenues available to independent writers. Though several career changes, a life-altering call from The Most High God and a major cross-country move have prevented the ladies from continuing their work as a team in this venture, the now Texas-based Tara continues to write, publish and offer assistance to other writers wanting to tell their stories.
